We witnessed a great stage in this Finisher Stage with a change of leader in the men's category and a fierce battle in the women's race. In Elite Women, Mónica Calderón knew she had to give it her all today to close the nearly 9-minute gap between her and Diana Pinilla after yesterday's stage. In the first kilometers, we saw Mónica fighting hard to make up time. However, a crash ended her chances of continuing the fight for the lead, as she was unable to finish the stage. Thus, Diana Pinilla emerged as the clear winner of this seventh edition of the BH Catalunya Bike Race, with an outstanding performance throughout the competition.
In Elite Men, the race was much tighter, with a change of leadership in favor of Frenchman Hugo Drechou. From the start, no rider managed to break away, and the lead group remained compact for much of the stage. A flat tire by the leader, Axel Badia, allowed Hugo Drechou to launch a decisive attack, distancing himself enough to win both the stage and the overall classification with determination. Hugo Drechou crossed the finish line first, with Martí Arán coming in second, closely contesting the stage.
With the seventh edition of the Catalunya Bike Race concluded, we would like to extend a special thanks to all the towns that hosted the riders. Without their support, hospitality, and assistance, this event would not have been possible. See you in 2025!
