BH Bikes expands its commitment to the big MTB stage races and in 2023 will be present for the first time in the BH Catalunya Bike Race by OAKLEY. This is one of the races with the most character on the calendar and one of the best valued for its routes that combine high mountain landscapes with trails of all kinds.
The sixth edition of the BH Catalunya Bike Race by Oakley will be held, as usual, the last weekend of September and will do so with many new features. With Puigcerdà as the nerve centre, one of the great novelties is that the last stage will be in the town of Alp. The aim of this move is to continue to expand the event throughout the Cerdanya region, as it is an area with a multitude of options, landscapes, trails and unique views.
In addition to the debut of Alp, we will also recover routes from the first editions, as we will move even more around the region, so that you can ride the best trails in the area. As a novelty, the people responsible of the route design of this edition will be the cycling community of the region 'Cerdanya Cycling Culture', who know the area like no one else.
The XC range of BH Bikes fits perfectly with the character of this stage race. The Lynx Race, BH's flagship model, is a perfect bike for this type of event in which having the advantages of its Split Pivot suspension system can mean the difference between enjoying the most demanding sections of the race or suffering them. With a choice of 100 or 120 mm of travel, it is an ideal model to face its demanding route with guarantees and reduce the wear and tear of competing day after day.
Catalunya Bike Race will have as every edition with high level participants, among which Natalia Fischer, from BH Templo Cafés, will surely stand out. The current European champion of the modality already knows the race and will return in 2023 as one of the great attractions of the starting grid.
Álvaro Olasolo, head of communications at BH explains that "at BH we are very happy to be part of this great race. The Catalunya Bike Race is a benchmark event in the national calendar, an authentic mountain bike race that fits perfectly with our way of seeing this modality".
Aitor Jiménez, events director of Octagon Esedos, highlights that "having strategic brands in the sector such as BH and Oakley, helps us to continue positioning ourselves and remain a benchmark in the organisation of MTB stage races".
